After a long search for a campground for my husband working in the area, Danny was very accommodating and made the reservation process painless. He went above and beyond what any campground manager has done. We would highly recommend this campground for anyone in the area and hope to stay again very soon.
If home is where the heart is then this places is something I would call home. The views of the mountains that surround this lovely little place is just astounding! When there as been some rain these mountains are covered in steam, and is truly a sight like no other. The peacefulness of the river calmly moving feels like almost a dream. The little Sandy river surrounds this sweet little place making it the best fishing I have ever done in Kentucky, IN THE WHOLE TRI-STATE AREA. Then finally the reason I would call this home the people who run this quaint little campground are the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure to talk to. They go around and try to make this the most comfortable stay possible, they even threw a small get together so everyone on the campground could meet and feel more comfortable then they were before. From the amazing scenery that come with this Island to the many amazing personalities I have met, has made this a place to always come back to. A home away from home. Thank you Danny for all your help, and Thank you Melanie for all your understanding and amazing cooking!! Also Thank you Mr. James for having the most outstanding rv camping ground I have ever seen. Can't wait to be back!!
This is a magical place! Close to everything but secluded. The park managers go out of the way to make you feel at home. As snowbirds this will be a must stop on the migration.
Great location to bring the kids fishing or just to relax and kayak! Water and electric hookups to include 50amp. Host are very accommodating, and helped us setup the second we pulled in!
I had a wonderful time here. Hosts are great. I'd love to spend a lazy weekend here just camping and hanging out. Unfortunately this time around it was just a place to sleep.
The location is perfect. If you forgot anything Russell and Ashland are not far. Our site was beautiful. We had water abs a 50amp connection. Dump site convenient on our way out. The land can get wet and hold water, especially the closer spots to the river, so be mindful. It was raining hard the days prior to arrival, but stopped the day we set camp. By the next day I rode my MC out of the grounds. There were still some slick spots but if you are mindful is fine. We will definitely be back. And our offer to help out around the grounds still stands!
The place is back off the road and it’s surround on three sides by the little sandy. Great fishing and good people. Real quiet. I would recommend and I plan on going back
We love RV camping here. My wife, grandson, and daughter come here every weekend. Best fishing on the Little Sandy River in Greenup, KY! Beautiful campsite, great people, lots of fun! I mean come on, who can actually say they spend every weekend on an island in Kentucky!😉😁
I really enjoyed my stay there. The owners were great and they treat you like family! If quite and quaint is what you're looking for then its for you. The prices are extremely reasonable!!! And also If you're afraid of a little mud when it rains you should probably stay home. Very pretty and on the river! I will definitely be staying there again!
