I have a 43' Deisel Pusher with 2 rear axels. A little over 46,000 lbs. I called the manager and he said he was 20 min. Away. He got there about an hour later but did give me a # for a tow company. I called them and they were about 30 min. Away. When the driver showed up he said they should have told me about big rigs getting stuck there. A coach was pulled out the day before and a few others the week before. The manager did refund my money as I told him I would not be staying there. It took a few hours to get pulled out and it was expensive. FMCA would not cover it. We visited Little Bear Island Campground, no overnight stay. read less

The views of the mountains that surround this lovely little place is just astounding! When there as been some rain these mountains are covered in steam, and is truly a sight like no other. The peacefulness of the river calmly moving feels like almost a dream. The little Sandy river surrounds this sweet little place making it the best fishing I have ever done in Kentucky, IN THE WHOLE TRI-STATE AREA. Then finally the reason I would call this home the people who run this quaint little campground are the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure to talk to. They go around and try to make this the most comfortable stay possible, they even threw a small get together so everyone on the campground could meet and feel more comfortable then they were before. From the amazing scenery that come with this Island to the many amazing personalities I have met, has made this a place to always come back to. A home away from home. Thank you Danny for all your help, and Thank you Melanie for all your understanding and amazing cooking!! Also Thank you Mr. James for having the most outstanding rv camping ground I have ever seen. Can't wait to be back!! read less

This is a magical place! Close to everything but secluded. The park managers go out of the way to make you feel at home. As snowbirds this will be a must stop on the migration.

The location is perfect. If you forgot anything Russell and Ashland are not far. Our site was beautiful. We had water abs a 50amp connection. Dump site convenient on our way out. The land can get wet and hold water, especially the closer spots to the river, so be mindful. It was raining hard the days prior to arrival, but stopped the day we set camp. By the next day I rode my MC out of the grounds. There were still some slick spots but if you are mindful is fine. We will definitely be back. And our offer to help out around the grounds still stands! read less - Luke Hoffman7/01/2021 - Google
