RV Camping and Boondocking on the Little Sandy River, Greeenup, KY

Boondocking on the River in Northeastern Kentucky

Little Bear Island Campground’s huge RV Campsites are perfect for large travel trailers and motorhomes and as a result, make for a fantastic boondocking experience.  If you’re truly looking for a rural place without street lights and concrete, then you’ve found your weekend vacation place. Quietly fish the Little Sandy, day or night because you aren’t located in a crowd of RC campsites, close together with tons of people. Grassy sites, fairly level, no street lights, just peace, and quiet.  Maximum of 6 persons per site.  Minimum one adult per site. We can accommodate RVs up to 45 feet and slideouts.

At Little Bear Island Campground, you’ll always enjoy robust fishing, hiking, campfires, or just kicking back and relaxing by the river. We’re just a short drive outside of Ashland, KY; Ironton, OH; and Huntington, WV. All with plenty of restaurants, historic sites, shops, and small townships to discover.

We have 50 beautiful RV Sites with river and mountain views spread out over 14 acres.  14 other sites offer water and electric hook-ups, 10 with water only, plus an onsite dump station.
